It's a good question, because The Beatles songs always in fans mind, so these 2 boxset released, the main reasons are record company want to catch money. If you have much extra money, just own one set, if not, forget it. And if you buy the boxsets just for keeping, and don't open this enen the plastic wrap, I am not argeed with that point, music is listening and sharing. Don't imagine one day this boxsets make you earn much more money after you sell in web. |

本人過去一年多，每期都不間斷地拿取Headlines，因為內容十分豐富，也增長了音樂的認知。本人有一些關於音樂分類的問題想請教。
在剛出版的一期雜誌中 (封面為盧廣仲音樂會廣告) ，有一篇關於王若琳的訪問。編輯你表示，Norah Jones跟王若琳跟都不認為自己的音樂可歸類為Jazz。
坊間很多人把這兩位歌手，定位為爵士樂歌手。但我曾經在某間唱片店的古期及爵士部中，聽到員工說Norah Jones唱的是country，而非Jazz；而王若琳，而在英文版的Wikipedia上的Joanna Wang一版中，所顯示她的類別也並非Jazz。本人只是很皮毛地觸過的爵士樂，例如購買了幾張Diana Krall的專輯，也聽過一些如Miles Davis、John Coltrane等大師的作品，但我覺得王若琳的作品，跟他們的風格不太一樣，但Norah Jones的首兩張專輯，卻感覺有點像Jazz。
請問編輯先生，硬要把她們的音樂定位的話，該如何定位？ |

Jazz is a root music in State, nowadays many contemporary singers will play save to category themselves as contemporary music, because jazz will be defined as serious, more standard and techniqually, even you play instruments or vocals, But it's no doubt that most of the modern contemporary singers are listening jazz music when they grew up, their favourites must be Ella, Edith...etc., but they don't classify themselves as jazz because it's too heavy on their shoudlers when they focus in the mainstream market, records companies also category them into contemporary.Honestly, in the audience field, many jazz lovers always looked down some contemporary names, I tell you a story, in the 80, when Kenny G just came out, many credit and company also categoried him as jazz, so that he became a taget by jazz fans, so that new comers will play save in mainstream field. If you want to classify jazz and contemporary, just try different name from Mile Davis, Kenny G, Ella Fitergerald, Norah Jones(Norah Jones's root is country music, she said this in my interview when she came to Hong Kong), compare their style and find some history and definition thru interview( Like Wiki), listening more, learning more. |

To distinguish the music styles, the basic method is listening more, and now on, it's more convenient to listen different styles thru internet, I always suggest a good method, steps as follow:
1. find one of your favorite names
2. search their music genres in some web, like Wikipedia,
3. following the music plant tree to discover more new names and repeat the above two steps....
Then you will get a bright ear and get more music knowledge. |

自【一個夢兒】後，Danny Summer已經有13年未有推出過全新大碟。這些年來，曾有人懷疑他究竟是靈感枯竭？抑或是市道疲弱？「香港搖滾之父」仍能帶給樂迷驚喜嗎？這輯唱片名為【Danny Summer in Power】，不正是說給大家聽他有的是力量嗎！全碟共收錄了11首歌曲，剔除3首舊作和1曲Reprise，Danny共編撰及演奏了7首歌曲，如無記錯的話，他以前從未一次過發表多首作品的，今次實在是難能可貴。
7首新作中，大部出自老戰友劉卓輝的手筆，主打歌《大國崛起》，與其說歌頌掌權者，不如話是國人堅不屈精神的寫照。雖然Danny旅居外地多年，仍心繫家園，《香港香港》和《又過十年》針貶時弊，反映了普羅大眾的心聲。先前一曲《力量》夫子自道，後續的《Nothing’s impossible》更表明其搖滾精神不可改變！
一輪套鼓、貝斯和電吉他交替擊奏後，Danny不忘藍調抒懷一番，《誰人》和《很久不見》憶念故友，情感真摯。《別了》一曲兩奏，遊子思念雙親昔日叮囑照料，如今欲報親恩已難如願，若能感同身受，當會觸動眼框的淚水。
三首舊作的錄音室版本首次重見天日。《截拳道》是亞洲電視【李小龍傳】(1992)的主題曲， Danny自掏腰包，向原唱片公司購回版權，成就了樂迷們的集體回憶，可是當年的錄音水平明顯和這張專輯不協調。《笑看前路》是香港電台電視劇的主題曲，以往受限時間，未能留心細聽尾段一輪吉他獨奏，這時正是表達往事已矣，抬頭再走不言悔！《力量》最早見於2007年，雖然曾經成為演唱會、歌唱比賽，甚至是政治團體的主題曲，但是今次所聽的是元祖版本，由此更可考驗樂迷的耳朵，嘗試分辨箇中的不同。
全碟所有歌聲都在香港錄音，而樂器、混音和Mastering部分全在L.A.完成，質素有保證，曾有樂迷表示：「一開機……嘩！好大聲……再聽落去……真是Rock到爆炸！意想不到，音色做得不錯！」
總括來說，全碟歌曲不算悅耳，也缺乏話題和商業計算，可是，當你感受到製作人的誠意，以及瞭解歌中背後的意思後，定能找到值得回味和足可稱道的地方。
註：全碟美工、攝影和翻譯工作全由Danny的歌迷負責，由此可以看到他們的團結和對歌者的愛戴。
