Evanescence解作消失的意思，由英文字evanesce演變出來，據說Amy Lee好喜歡這個名字，貪佢夠黑暗和神秘。有沒有涉及宗教元素﹖或者樂隊打扮和封面設計多多少少有些宗教影響吧。歌德式搖滾的根源可以說是由80年代Joy Division的post punk引申出來，音樂風格和內容都好dark和好灰，聽聽Bauhaus、The Cure、Siouxsie & the Banshees、The Sisters of Mercy、The Mission和Christian Death，你便可以感受到那份絕望的感覺，唔開心時少聽為妙。 |

I read the past issue and would like to buy a compilation - Weekend Nu Jazz. But I searched for several shops including TST HMV and still could not buy the disc. Does any shop in Hong Kong mainly selling this kind of music, so do dance and house music? |

You can go to CD Warehouse and Hong Kong Records, a lot of High Note Compilation for you, I sure you can get the Weekend Nu Jazz in there.If you're very into dance music, you can go to sino centre basement, the price is more cheaper than HMV. Good Luck. |

I'm actually quite confused about the music genre 'alternative'. You've said its kinda non-mainstream style in the mainstream. However, some bands like R.E.M., Audioslave, Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon, The Fray, etc. are also categorised as alternative rock. May you pls explain it in details and what's the difference of musical elements between garage rock and alternative? Thanks a lot! |

R.E.M., Audioslave, Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon, The Fray, etc. of course all of them are alternative rock bands, you don't need to confuse. alternative is general description of their music style. garage rock is more retro and old skool feel, the sound more raw, lo-fi and rough, I recommend you to listen the legend MC5, very raw and punk. If you want the new generation of garage rock, you can listen to White Stripes, Kings of Leon, Jet, Wolfmother, 20-20s & The Black Keys. |

Grunge rock不是甚麼新東西,這是rock music的一種手法,以raw的結他配合帶憤怒的演唱方式, 其實根源也是由punk走出來, 試試聽聽Nirvana, 然後再聽Punk年代的The Clash,你會找到輪廓了. |

Yes, I am agreed. She belongs to Universal Music, she's from England, but HK records company never pushed this name because they critized she is pop, that's mean不夠型,this is some Hong Kong records companies staffs conservative concept, poor enough. When they did not promo the song to radio, of course the DJ won't play automatically. This is Hong Kong music scene. |

你也知道有二手cd這回事, 事實上二手店有很多選擇了,因來源很複雜,不能盡言. 如果想聽多些,最好要勤到唱片店,尤其有試聽的地方,聽完再看價錢,然後再到其他店格價. 此外, 到外國一些網站試聽30秒,認清音樂類型,也是吸收音樂的好方式. |

多謝你一直支持，我們會做到更好，六合彩的音樂其實是荷蘭樂隊Shocking Blue在1972年的流行曲，六合彩用了一段音樂，一直無變過，在去年我為In The 70's~Music And Life雜錦CD選曲時，曾要求用此曲，可惜不獲批，故要找也較困難了. |
